Theatre Games

Instructors: Rebecca Payne & Isaiah Mitchem

Students will learn the art of stage performance through a variety of games and activities including improv games, non-verbal storytelling, and more! This class is perfect for both beginner and intermediate students.

Classes will run for 50min.

1912 Center ~ April 1—May 6

Tuition: $60 per student.

Ages 8-12 – Mon 3:30pm 

Ages 13-19 – Mon 4:30pm

Theatrical Make-up

Instructor: Mike Long

Come explore the magic of theatre makeup and learn the basics to create various looks for the stage. Theatre makeup is a fundamental aspect of bringing characters to life and immersing audiences in the performance.
This training program will equip you with the tools you’ll need to create different looks, from basic beauty makeup to special effects. You’ll gain hands-on experience with various products, tools, and techniques. Students will learn how to put together a basic make-up kit that can be used for any production. No experience necessary.

One hour of instruction with an optional half hour to try out what you learned. 

Tuition: $100 per student (Tuition does not include make-up kit)

Wednesdays, 5pm starting April 3rd.

Using Art in Theatre Sets

Instructor: Erin Jepsen

Improve your knowledge and practical skills of theatre set decoration techniques with this fun, laid-back, hands-on class! All experience and artistic skill levels are welcome. We’ll be exploring topics such as:  painting, crafting, building, designing for theatre lighting, lettering, artistic design concepts such as composition, perspective, art history in brief, thinking outside the box and frugal design, etc. You’ll learn how to make interesting, realistic, historically accurate set and prop pieces. We may even get to create some pieces for APOD’s upcoming show, “Beauty and the Beast!”

APOD Theatre Camp!

July 15-19 – Latah Fairgrounds 

Camp Coordinators: Rebecca Payne & Isaiah Mitchem

Featuring a variety of classes & activities to develop skills in Acting, Music, Dance, and Behind the Scenes!

Theatre Fun will be in the mornings for ages 6-10.

Afternoons will be classes and activities for ages 11-19.

Ages 14-19 will have more in depth activities in the evening.

All students will perform in a theatre showcase on Friday evening!

**APOD Youth: Leadership Initiative is a group of young adults who have been involved with APOD as students in our workshops, performers in our shows, and volunteers in our various activities. They are now gaining hands-on experience in areas of leadership in our organization.
